Bill Cosby sentenced to 3 to 10 years in prison for sexual assault!
Hollywood celeb Bill Cosby has been sentenced to 3 to 10 years in a Pennsylvania state prison. The 81 year old comedian was classified as a ‘sexually violent predator’ by the judge ahead of pronouncing the verdict in the case. He has been proven guilty of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand. He appeared at the courthouse previously and has to undergo lifetime counseling and report quarterly to authorities. His name will also appear on a sex offender registry. Bill Cosby was denied bail.
The trial took 13 days and testimony of Constand and five other women was included. He was found guilty of drugging and molesting Andrea Constand in 2004. She sued Cosby in 2005 and settled for $3.4 million against which Cosby admitted to drugging women before sex. He however, told that all his interactions have been consensual.
"It is time for justice. Mr. Cosby, this has all circled back to you. The time has come," told Judge Steven O'Neill as he pronounced the quantum of punishment. Cosby will be 91 if he serves the full sentence of 10 years. The first trial in June 2017 ended with a hung jury. Cosby did not go to prison since the verdict in April and was granted a bail on $1 million. He was however not allowed to leave his house without necessary permissions from the officials.
